The Kenmore Ultra Wash dishwasher is available for purchase in many home retail, appliance and Sears department stores, as well as online. The dishwasher features three spraying levels, fold-down tines, large capacity fold-down shelves, overfill protector, heavy-duty food grinder, soil sensor and automatic temperature control. If your Kenmore Ultra Wash dishwasher is leaking, the problem may be simple enough that you can easily find and fix it yourself.
Water Hoses
Take a look at the water hoses that are connected to the dishwasher. If water has pooled under the hoses, set some towels down and disconnect the hoses. Clean out the inlet screens to remove any debris or residue that might be causing the problem then firmly reconnect the hoses. You may need a new clamp for the hose, which can be purchased at most hardware stores.
Water Inlet Valve
Another possible source of leaking is the water inlet valve, which is located behind the lower front access panel. Disconnect the power to the dishwasher before removing the access panel on the dishwasher, then inspect the water inlet valve. If it is broken, damaged or leaking, contact Kenmore for repair assistance.
Door Gasket
Open the dishwasher door and inspect the door gasket. Look closely for tears or other signs of damage that might be preventing a thorough seal when the door is shut. If the gasket is damaged or broken, you will need to replace it. If the gasket is not damaged or torn, use a clean, damp cloth to wipe it clean and remove any dirt or debris that might prevent a good seal.
Main Tub Seal
The main tub seal is located in the bottom of the dishwasher tub, underneath the drain impeller. If the seal is damaged or broken, water can leak out of the dishwasher and may even damage the motor. While handy owners can try to access the tub seal by removing the lower rack, followed by the spray arm and the spray arm support, then taking out the wash/drain impellers, most owners will find that this is a job best left to professionals.
