Reliable if properly taken care of, Kenmore Elite washers can last for many years. If your Elite-line washer drains improperly, there may be debris blocking drainage, or the washer might have been installed properly. To figure out exactly what's keeping your Elite washer from draining right, troubleshoot according to Kenmore's guidelines. Troubleshooting will help you determine the problem; often you can resolve issues without having to call a service professional.
Instructions
1. Unplug the unit from the wall.
2. Inspect the drain hose for kinks. If twisted, remove the kinks from the hose.
3. Drain the water that's in the hose into a bucket.
4. Press down on the clips holding the hose in place. Pull the hose off the unit. Look down the tube to see if there are any clogs. Straighten a wire hanger and push it into the clog to remove any.
5. Reattach the hose.
6. Measure from the floor to the end of the drain. It should be 96 inches above the floor. Raise or lower the hose if necessary.
7. Plug in the washer and test it for drainage. If it still fails to drain properly, you'll have to call a service professional.
