Clean A Stainless Dishwasher

Cleaning appliances need cleaning, too. Take a cloth wet with vinegar to your dishwasher's door.

Dishwashers are machines used to clean plates, cups and glasses and eating and cooking utensils and are found in homes, hospitals, restaurants and hotels. Racks inside the washer hold items that are constantly sprayed with hot water and detergent which is added in a special compartment usually located within the interior of the washers door. With regular use, dishwashers can accumulate dirt on both the inside and outside of the machine, and need to be cleaned. You can use some popular household items to clean the interior and exterior of a dishwasher. Doing so takes little effort and is light on the wallet. These techniques and products work well on dishwashers constructed of stainless steel.

Instructions

1. Open the dishwasher and pour 1 cup of baking soda and 1 cup of vinegar down the drain at the bottom of the dishwasher.

2. Place a cup of white vinegar right-side-up on the dishwasher's cup rack. Close the door and turn on the washer, letting it run a full cycle. Vinegar is a powerful cleaner and will disinfect, deodorize, loosen food, remove stains and prevent mold and rusting of the dishwasher's interior. The water from the cycle, and the vinegar and baking soda in the drain, will flush clean and deodorize the drain.

3. Moisten a cloth with white vinegar and wipe down the stainless steel exterior surface of the dishwasher. Vinegar restores shine and also protects, polishes and sanitizes stainless steel. It will remove smudges, dirt, grease and other marks.
