Mini food choppers are available in several sizes and shapes. Some mini food choppers are small, electrically powered food processors. Others can be manually operated using a pump motion. Mini food choppers make it quick and easy to dice and mince vegetables, chop nuts, grate cheese and perform other traditional cutting tasks.
Manual Choppers
Manual food choppers are cylindrical and feature a wave-shaped blade. A pump at the top of the chopper pushes the rotating blade up and down.

There is a cup at the bottom of most manual choppers to catch the chopped food. Some even have a lid for the bottom of the chopper so that you can chop without putting a cutting board underneath the chopper. Some food choppers have small wiping fins on the side of the cup, to keep it clean while in use.

Manually powered mini food choppers are easy to transport and you can use them where there is no electricity, such as when camping. They break down easily for cleaning and are usually dishwasher safe.
Electric Mini Choppers
You can chop nuts and seeds to a finer grind with an electric chopper than with a manually powered version. You can also use the electric mini choppers to chop vegetables. Take care when doing so; if you pulse the blade too much, vegetables and nuts can become mushy and pasty.
Features of Electric Mini Food Choppers
Mini food processors have a bowl that will hold between one and three cups of food. The blade on electric mini food choppers is sharp and is located in the center of the bowl. It spins when the chopper is powered on. There are typically two pulse buttons on electric mini choppers--high and low speed.
