Smeg is an Italian company that manufactures a wide range of stylish home appliances, such as ranges, refrigerators and dishwashers. The Smeg fully integrated dishwasher features 10 wash cycles, water leak protection, stainless steel components and a hidden control panel. While the dishwasher's operation may seem confusing at first, you will soon be able to run your Smeg dishwasher without giving the process a second thought.
Instructions
Adding Rinse Aid and Detergent
1. Open the dishwasher door. Turn the cover of the rinse aid dispenser one-quarter turn counterclockwise and pull it from the dispenser.
2. Pour rinse aid into the dispenser until the indicator above the opening indicates it is full.
3. Place the cap back on the dispenser and turn it clockwise to close it.
4. Push the button above the detergent dispenser to release its cover.
5. Add the amount of automatic dishwasher detergent indicated on the detergent packaging.
6. Push the detergent lid closed.
7. Place more detergent into the small dispenser next to the covered detergent dispenser if you plan to use a hot prewash setting.
Placement of Dishes
8. Load containers with their openings face down to ensure all water drains out.
9. Place the heaviest, dirtiest items on the lower rack of the dishwasher, with their most soiled side facing the bottom of the dishwasher.
10. Place knives in the utensil basket with their handles facing up. Load spoons and forks into the basket as well, alternating their handle arrangement to prevent nesting.
11. Place lighter items, such as glasses or shallow bowls, on the upper rack of the dishwasher. You can also lay utensils with long handles, like ladles or tongs, across the upper rack.
Dishwasher Operation
12. Familiarize yourself with the dishwasher's settings and corresponding symbols found on pages 8 and 9 of the instruction manual.
13. Press the buttons on the hidden electronic control pad just inside the upper portion of the dishwasher door that correspond with the cycle you desire.
14. Push the on/off button, located at the far right of the control pad, to begin the cycle.
