Make Automatic Dishwasher Detergent
The cost of everything is rising these days, leading more and more people to get creative and find ways to save a buck. Some have reduced their amount of travel, while others have cut back on eating out. Still others have found their money-saving niche in whipping up their own cleaning supplies right in their own homes using simple and inexpensive ingredients. Making your own dishwasher detergent is one way to save a bundle--and help save the environment while you're at it!
Instructions
1. Measure one cup of washing soda, and pour this into the storage container.
2. Measure one cup borax and empty this into the storage container.
3. Measure 1/2 cup each kosher salt and citric acid, then add these to the storage container.
4. Using your stirring utensil, carefully stir to thoroughly combine the ingredients of your detergent.
5. Store your new automatic dishwasher detergent in the storage container where you mixed the ingredients.
6. Use 1 tbsp. of detergent per load of dishes washed.
