How do I Troubleshoot a Maytag Mdbh945a Dishwasher?
The Maytag Mdbh945a dishwasher is one of the more basic dishwashers. You can select a wash cycle based on the amount of soil on your dishes and you can choose to only run a rinse cycle. In addition, this dishwasher comes with a utensil basket that can be placed in various locations in the lower rack. If you experience problems with your unit, try troubleshooting on your own before contacting customer service.
Instructions
1. Make sure the door is closed and locked correctly if your Maytag dishwasher will not run or stops in the middle of a cycle. Verify that you have selected the right cycle and that the power to the dishwasher is on. If there is an overload, the motor will stop automatically. It will reset itself in just a few minutes. If it does not, call customer service. Ensure that the water shutoff valve is turned on. If the clean light is flashing, you need to contact customer service.
2. Verify that the water going into the dishwasher is hot if your unit is running too long. The machine will run longer if it has to heat the water first. Remember that your dishwasher can run for nearly three and half hours. The cycle time depends on the amount of soil, the water temperature, the type of cycle and the options you selected.
3. Make sure the cycle is complete if there is detergent remaining in the covered section of the dispenser. You may need to replace the detergent you are using if there are lumps in it. The dispenser may also be blocked by dishes in the unit when the door is closed, thus not allowing it to open properly. Make sure all cookware is out of the way.
4. Run a rinse cycle once or twice a day if you experience an odor in your unit. If you are washing your dishes only every two or three days, the dirty cookware may begin to smell. If your unit is new and it has a plastic smell, run a rinse using vinegar. Put 2 cups of white vinegar in a glass measuring cup on the bottom rack of your unit. Allow the dishwasher to run through a complete wash cycle, using the air dry option.
5. Check to see if your dishwasher is aligned with your countertop if you experience condensation on the kitchen counter. The dishwasher console's vents can cause moisture to form on the counter. Your owner's manual will have instructions on installation if you need to reinstall your dishwasher.
