You can restock your kitchen with new appliances bought on sale.
At some point or another, you're likely to want to replace a major appliance in your home. Whether you simply want to upgrade to the newest technology or your washing machine is on the fritz, when it's time to buy again, you may want to look for the best bargains possible. As with other consumer goods like clothes or shoes, major appliances get marked down in cost during certain times of the year. By taking advantage of this, you save yourself a decent amount of money.
Specific Months
Appliance manufacturers reveal the latest and greatest in their appliance lines in early fall. Stores receive the latest models of major appliances during September and October of each year. Once the stores receive these new models, they have to find a way to get rid of the old ones. The course of action most stores take is to mark down the older, last-season appliances for a big sale. October usually has plenty of appliance sales, but some stores wait until after the holiday season to mark down the older models. January makes a good time to check again for better prices on large appliances.
Holidays
In addition to major appliance sales during winter months, major holidays also may be a time for sales. Stores like to mark down prices for goods during holiday seasons in order to attract consumers that may be off work. For days like Black Friday, the first shopping day of the Christmas season, or day after Christmas sales, appliances may be marked down considerably. Other holidays that might bring about a major appliance sale include Columbus Day, President's Day, Independence Day, Memorial Day and Labor Day.
Store-Specific Sales
Major appliance sales can occur based on specific store factors. For instance, an appliance store nearby that's going out of business should have plenty of major appliances on sale. Likewise, grand openings of stores may be grounds for appliance sales. Some stores might schedule sales based around local events, like a football game victory. Other times, stores that come under new management might have an appliance sale that provides you with savings.
Random Sales
Sometimes, stores hold major appliance sales at random, unpredictable times throughout the year. These sales may be the result of an accidental surplus of appliances, selling off floor models, slightly damaged products or other possible options. Going into the store to look around is sometimes the best way to learn of good deals, as the sale may not be advertised. Pay attention to the delivery dates for major appliances for a store, as stores could put older models on sale to make room for the new shipments.
