Maytag Dryer Help

Maytag is a home appliance brand owned by the Whirlpool Corporation since 2006. Founded in 1893, the Iowa company is particularly noted for building washers and dryers, and for acquiring the Magic Chef, Hoover and Amana brands in its later years.

More recent Maytag dryer models share many of the same components with Whirlpool models, including Maytag's Bravo series introduced in 2008. Regardless of origin or similarities, you can find Maytag dryer help if your unit needs servicing.

Troubleshooting

Before calling for service, troubleshoot your dryer first. Take this step especially if your dryer is no longer under warranty as you may be able to avoid an expensive service call.

If your dryer will not start, check fuses and breakers. Replace burned-out fuses or reset the circuit breaker. Call an electrician if you determine that the problem is with your service panel.

Ensure electrical connections are engaged. On certain Maytag models equipped with an electrical panel, the "controls locked" status light may be lit. If so, press and hold the cycle signal button for three seconds. This will turn off the controls locked feature, resetting the dryer for use.

If you own an electric dryer and it does not heat, check your dryer settings to make sure that neither "Air Fluff" nor "Air Only" has been selected. Try running your dryer again using another setting.

For all other problems, locate your dryer's consumer handbook and review the installation and operating instructions for guidance.

Service Call

If you aren't able to obtain Maytag dryer help through the methods outlined in your consumer handbook, then call Maytag services at (800) 462-9267 for guidance. A service representative will ask you for the model and serial numbers, information. which can be found inside the door opening beneath the rubber boot. Ask Maytag's representative if your particular model has been recalled; confirm this information on the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission website (see second Resource). Maytag is required to make all repairs related to product recalls at no cost to you.

Should you need to take further action you can contact Maytag through its parent company:
