If dishes are coming out of your dishwasher with a white, filmy residue over their surface after a wash, it's likely they are suffering from soap scum buildup. With use your dishwasher accumulates soap scum in the dispenser jets. As the water passes through the dispensers, it passes the soap scum on to your dishes. Clean soap scum from your dishes with any of several common household products.
Instructions
1. Sprinkle baking soda onto the plate to cover the area affected by soap scum.
2. Wet the scrub brush with water and scrub the baking soda into the plate in small, circular motions.
3. Squeeze a cut lemon over the affected dish, dousing the scummy area of the plate with the acidic liquid.
4. Pour a quarter-sized amount of vinegar onto the dish.
5. Scrub the surface of the affected dish with the scrub brush.
6. Rinse the dish thoroughly with warm water to remove all products used in the cleaning process.
