Know How Long Your Appliances Should Last

When is it time to replace that major appliance? Does it make sense to repair it, or ditch it? Well, that depends on how old your major appliance is. So, keep a record of when you purchase major appliances, and you can answer that question easily with this information!

1. Refrigerator – Depending on the model fridges should last you about 15 years. Of course, if you buy a high-end model with better construction and insulation, it may last even longer.


2. Electric Range – A decent electric range should last about 12 years.Gas Range – A gas range can last up to 19 years, so they may be a more economical choice if you can use them in your home.


3. Washer – Most front load washers will last about 11 years, while top loaders last on average of 14, depending on how much laundry you do each week.Dryer – Dryers last about 14 years, depending on how much laundry you do each week.


4. Freezer – A freezer will last about 20 years.


5. Dishwasher – A dishwasher will last about 11 years.


6. Microwave – You should expect your microwave to last about 10 years.
