The Magic Chef home appliance line of products is sold by the Maytag Corporation and is intended for home use by consumers. Over time, a variety of problems can occur with a Magic Chef oven, such as it failing to heat properly or at all. If you are experiencing such a problem with your Magic Chef 6898VVV oven, troubleshooting it on your own may save you the expense and time of setting up a service call for the unit.
Instructions
1. Turn one of the stove's burner control knobs to confirm if the burners are working. This lets you know whether the entire stove is having problems or just the oven.
2. Check that the power cord is securely plugged into the wall outlet if your oven and burners are not working. Also check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.
3. Look at the oven control panel to confirm that a temperature has been selected for the oven. It is possible that you didn't press the correct button or simply forgot to start heating the oven. The "Bake Temp" button must be pressed before you select the temperature, or it will not heat. If you see an error code that starts with an "F," press "Stop/Clear" to see if that removes the error code. If not, you must call a service technician to work on the oven.
4. Call 800-688-1120 to find a service technician near you if you have an error code or have finished troubleshooting and the oven still will not heat.
