Model numbers can be found in different places.
When ordering a replacement part for a Kenmore range, you must give the model number of the appliance. Such numbers can include letters, numbers, dashes and dots. Take the exact number from the identification nameplate found in one of several possible locations on the stove, rather than relying on what is printed on the receipt, shipping box or owner's manual. The nameplate will distinguish between the model number and serial number.

Locate the Correct Model Number
1. Consult the "Use & Care Guide" that came with your Kenmore range, if available. While it does not give the model number, it provides the location of the serial plate which includes the model number. This information generally appears on the first or second page. If the manual is not accessible, continue with the steps.
2. Look first inside the cook-top, lifting the top if that is possible. For electric ranges only, check also under each of the surface burners, pulling it up and scanning inside.
3. Open the oven door next and examine the side of the door jamb toward the inside of the oven.
4. View the front of the stove's frame with the bottom drawer/broiler area pulled out. If the plate shows up here, it is likely to be on the right side, running up the side of the frame.
5. Inspect the interior of the top of the vent duct if you have a "downdraft" model of either the gas or electric Kenmore stove. If you have still not found the model number, you can call the Kenmore Product Question Line for assistance. As of 2010, the number was 1-888-536-6673.
