Make A Pool Ball Cleaner

Clean your pool balls with dishwasher detergent.

When playing a game of pool, you don't typically think of cleaning the balls until they begin to look dull and marred from chalk residue. In actuality, you should clean your pool balls every few months depending on the amount of time you spend playing pool, as this keeps the pool balls smooth, residue-free and looking their best for every game of pool. Make your own inexpensive cleaning solution, and wax and polish the balls as needed to restore their shine.

Instructions

1. Fill a sink with about 1 gallon warm water and 2 tbsp. powdered or liquid dishwasher detergent. Swish the water with your hands to mix the soap and water.

2. Place the pool balls in the water and let them sit for about one minute.

3. Dip a cleaning rag into the mixture, and remove the pool balls one by one, cleaning each one with the wet rag to remove dirt and residue.

4. Sprinkle baking soda over a toothbrush and scrub down the wet pool balls to remove any heavier residue.

5. Rinse the pool balls with clear, warm water and dry them with a clean rag. Apply a layer of wax to the balls if you notice any dulling of the gloss finish, following the application instructions on the wax container.
