Viking Dishwasher Instructions

Cleaning up after a meal is less work when you have a dishwasher in the kitchen.

From professional-grade ranges to dishwashers, Viking has been designing and selling appliances to consumers since the 1980s. One distinctive design for Viking's dishwasher is a hidden control panel along the top edge of the door. To ensure clean and streak-free dishes, it is important to stack the dishwasher properly and use both detergent and a rinse agent in the proper components on the inside of the door.

Instructions

Loading the Dishes

1. Load the dishwasher so all the dishes are exposed to the detergent and the water spray. Don't let items in the racks touch each other, the dishwasher walls or the wash arms.

2. Adjust the fold-down tines on the bottom rack to accommodate oversized dishes.

3. Avoid loading the silverware basket in such a way that items nestle inside of each other. Ensure none of the items interfere with the wash arms.

4. Add detergent to the automatic detergent dispenser and rinse agent to the automatic rinse dispenser. Both dispensers are located on the inside of the door.

Setting the Controls

5. Push the wash cycle button you need, using the control panel on the top edge of the door. Use the "Pots and Pans" cycle for heavily soiled cooking dishes, "Normal Wash" for dinnerware and "Econo and China" cycle for lightly soiled or fragile items. The "Rinse and Hold" cycle gives the dishes a short rinse without heat.

6. Select the "Hi Temp Wash" from the Options menu when you want to increase the washing temperature for heavily soiled items. This option is not available for the "Econo and China" or "Rinse Hold" cycles.

7. Select the "Delay Start" option to delay the start of the cycle. Press the "Delay Start" button once so the number "2" is highlighted to delay for two hours. For a four hour delay continue pressing the button until the number "4" is highlighted. Once you've chosen the correct delay time press the "Start" button and close the door. "Delay Start" will not work with the "Rinse and Hold" cycle.

8. Open the door to stop the current cycle and add a missed item. Then press "Start" and close the door to resume the cycle.

9. Open the door slightly and then press and hold "Start" for 4 seconds to cancel the current cycle. Select the new cycle, press "Start" and close the door. The dishwasher will drain and start the new cycle.
