Repair A Thermador Oven

You may encounter a number of problems with your Thermador oven. Some of these problems include error messages on the oven's display, temperature problems or the oven not starting. The problems you encounter depend on the oven model and there are several ways to repair these issues.

Instructions

Display Errors on DM301ES / DM302ES Models

1. If "F" followed by two digits appears on the display (such as "F-24" or "F-25"), touch the "Oven Off" button and wait for about three minutes, then turn the oven back on.

2. If "SAb" appears on the display, touch the "Oven Off" button, then turn it back on. You do not need to wait three minutes before turning the oven back on.

3. Slow down how fast you touch the number buttons if you are pressing the number buttons but the corresponding numbers do not appear on the display. If you press another number button while still pressing one, the second number does not appear on the display.

Oven Temperature Problems on DM301ES / DM302ES Models

4. Turn the oven off by pressing "Oven Off."

5. Press and hold "Start," then press "Bake."

6. When "0" appears on the screen, release all the buttons.

7. Press "Bake" to change the temperature of the oven. Pressing "Bake" changes the temperature in increments of 5 degrees each time you press it. You can only change the temperature of the oven 35 degrees above or below its current temperature. To change it further, you must begin the temperature changing procedure all over again.

8. Look at the oven's display. If it is reading "F2," remove any cookware you have on the oven's heating elements, such as a burner. Wait until the heating element cools off, then press one of the touch control zones on the oven's display. If you turn the heating element on and F2 reappears, the heating element has not cooled off enough yet and you must wait longer.

9. Check the display. If it reads "F4," it means that cookware you have on the oven is too close to the touch control zone buttons on the oven's display. Move your cookware away from the display and wait for "F4" to disappear from the display.

10. Check for the "F8" symbol on the oven's display. It means that a heating element, such as a burner, was used for too long without a break and the automatic lock has been activated. Press any of the symbols on the oven's display and you can use the heating element again.

11. Check the oven's main power cord if the oven does not turn on. If the power cord is loose or not plugged in, securely plug it in to an electrical socket.

12. Check the element displays. If any of them are flashing "E," take a cloth and wipe the touch key to remove any food or dirt that is on the touch key. If there is something sitting on the touch key, remove whatever it is sitting on it.

13. Turn the oven off with the main power switch if "E" is flashing on all of the element displays. Wipe the touch keys off and remove any cookware currently on the oven, then turn the oven back on.
